Experience:

The recruitment process was an on-campus drive for a Data Engineer Intern role, with a possibility of full-time conversion.

Round 1: Coding Round (Data Structures & Algorithms – DSA)

This was an online coding challenge with three DSA problems of medium to hard difficulty. The problems tested fundamental problem-solving abilities, data structures, and algorithmic skills, covering graph algorithms, dynamic programming, and advanced data structures. Efficient solutions were required due to strict time limits. The candidate solved two questions completely and one partially.

Round 2: Technical Interview

This round involved solving four coding problems live. Two questions were easy, and two were of medium difficulty. The interviewer focused on the candidate's approach to problem-solving and optimization techniques. The candidate explained their thought process clearly and optimized solutions in real-time.

Round 3: HR/Managerial Interview

This was a face-to-face discussion with the HR and hiring manager. Questions were asked about past projects and internships, focusing on experience with real-world problem-solving and approach to challenges. A SQL query was also asked to test database knowledge. Communication skills, teamwork, and alignment with Sigmoid's culture were assessed.

Overall Experience: The candidate successfully cleared all rounds and was offered an internship with a full-time conversion opportunity. Tips included practicing medium to hard-level DSA problems, being thorough with SQL and system design basics, and communicating thought processes clearly.
