Experience:

Societe Generale conducted a campus recruitment drive. The process included an online test, two technical rounds, a managerial round, and an HR round.

Online Test Round (60 mins): This round comprised 3 coding questions, a few aptitude questions, and technical MCQs. The difficulty was moderate. The candidate completed one coding question fully and was close to completing a second. Out of 468 students, 40 were selected for the next round.

Technical Round – 1 (45 mins): The interviewer started with an introduction and then moved to project discussions, focusing on the candidate's contributions. Since Java was the primary language, questions were asked on Java concepts such as String pool, Collections, interface, JDK, JVM, JRE, Heap, and Stack Memory. A problem statement on basic file operation to read strings and count their occurrences was given, which the candidate solved using a HashMap. From 40 students, 18 were selected for the next round.

Technical Round – 2 (30 mins): After an introduction, the interviewer delved into projects, specifically Full Stack Application Development and Data Structures. Questions were posed on Angular, its latest versions, and its working. Basic Data Structures questions were asked. The interviewer then asked the candidate to rate C++, Java, and Python on a scale of 1 to 5 and discuss language preferences for coding. The candidate explained the use cases for each language (C++ for faster execution, Java for platform independence, Python for readability). An SQL question was skipped as the candidate worked primarily on NoSQL. OOPs concepts like types of inheritance and the use of interfaces were discussed, including a sample problem on interfaces.

Managerial Round (45 mins): This round started with a quick resume walk-through. Managerial questions included problems faced in projects, how they were overcome, whether any projects were dropped, decision-making processes, career aspirations (5/10 years), expectations from peers and project manager, and "Why Societe Generale?".

HR Round: This short round covered comfort with relocation, working hours and shifts, family background, and company policies and leave details.
