Experience:

Cholleti Sai Mahith from NIT Warangal, Electrical and Electronics Engineering branch, secured a Full-Time Engineer (FTE) offer from Sedemac. The selection process involved two online tests followed by two technical interview rounds.

Online Test-1: This round consisted of Aptitude, English proficiency, and Nonverbal reasoning questions. Candidates were shortlisted for the second round based on their performance here.

Online Test-2: This test served as a further shortlisting mechanism for the technical interviews.

Technical Interview-1: This was an online interview where descriptive questions were asked, and the interviewer required the candidate to show solutions on a rough book. Being from EEE, questions were mainly from Maths and Circuit Theory. Specific questions included:

  • Two capacitors (1F and 10F) in parallel, with the 10F capacitor initially charged to V volts. Find steady-state voltages, and how they change if a resistor R is introduced between them.
  • Water tank of height H with a hole at the bottom, water leaking at kx L/min (x is water height). Calculate time to empty half the tank and steady-state height with y L/min inflow due to rain.
  • Given x=ASin(wt), y=BSin(wt+theta), find locus if theta=0° and theta=90°.
  • Let a and b be two whole numbers, find the number of possible solutions of ab+1=2(a+b).
  • How to practically measure unknown capacitance?

The candidate answered all questions in this round.

Technical Interview-2: Within an hour of the first interview, results were announced, and the candidate was shortlisted for the second round. Questions in this round included:

  • A constant power source of 5 watts connected across a 1.8 ohms resistor. Find current and voltage.
  • Find the time period of the function f(t)=Sin(at)+Sin(t).
  • A black box with basic electrical circuit elements is tested. When a 4-ohm resistor is connected across it, what are the voltmeter and ammeter readings?
  • A resistor is connected between two voltage sources V and V', where V=V0-KI^2. Find I if V'=0 volts and V'=V0/2 volts.
  • Question related to representing a probability density function (candidate got stuck but tried to answer).

Overall Experience: The interview process was thorough, testing fundamental concepts and problem-solving skills across various engineering domains. The online format required showing solutions.
