Experience:

The candidate applied for campus placements for an internship. Compensation was 35k for 10 months.

Online Assessment (45 minutes): 2 easy coding questions on their platform, presented as long story-like problems. The candidate solved them in about 25 minutes.

Round 1 (Interview - 30 Minutes):

• Basic Introduction.
• General discussion on projects and their functionalities.
• What is OOPs and its four pillars?
• What is a virtual function?
• Is it necessary to change parameters for function overloading?
• How are exceptions implemented in Java and C++?
• Difference between Throw and Throws.
• Coding question: Implement a code that prints numbers alternately on running repeatedly (e.g., 1, then 2, then 1, etc.). Candidate suggested semaphores (one process) and then file handling.
• What are an interface and an abstract class?
• Behavioral: Why should I join SAP?

The candidate answered most questions except for exceptions and abstract classes.

Round 2 (Interview - 50 Minutes): The interviewer did not open their camera and interrupted the candidate's introduction. The interviewer did not introduce themselves.

• The candidate mentioned familiarity with frameworks like Flask, Spring Boot, and React (which was a "huge mistake").
• Questions on React, despite the candidate stating not being good at JavaScript, only basic functions and HTML/CSS for backend-focused projects.
• "What is the file extension for React?" (Candidate answered "React does not have an extension").
• C++ coding: Write code to return the frequency of elements in an array (solved in 5 minutes).
• Hash maps and hashing explanation.
• DSA question: Calculate the transpose of a Matrix (solved in 5 minutes and code pasted in chat).

The interviewer gave no feedback. The candidate was rejected, while 8 out of 9 shortlisted students qualified for the HR round. Other students were not asked about development except for one with the same interviewer.

Overall Experience: The candidate found it a terrible experience due to unexpected development questions and the interviewer's demeanor.
