Experience:

SAP Labs visited the campus for placements. The process had 5 rounds.

Round 1 (Aptitude and Coding - 70 mins):

• 25 aptitude questions (maths + logical reasoning) in 25 minutes.
• Three coding questions:
1. Partial coding: Complete two functions to identify if three given integers belong to an Arithmetic Progression (AP) or Geometric Progression (GP).
2. Debugging round: Identify an error in provided code (e.g., shorthand "+" operator issue).
3. Complete coding round: Solve a given problem statement from scratch.

The difficulty was moderate. 27 out of 400 students were selected for interviews.

Round 2 (Technical Interview 1 - 1.5 hrs): Started with self-introduction, hobbies, and areas of interest.

• Questions on strong subjects (C, Java, DBMS, Data Structures, C++).
• Java string manipulation program: Concatenate user inputs.
• Difference between ArrayList and LinkedList, and real-life use cases.
• HashMap: How it works, how to put three values in a HashMap, and related questions.
• Other questions not fully recalled.

Round 3 (Technical Interview 2 - 40 mins): Focused on projects and core computer science concepts.

• Detailed discussion on the candidate's project (15 mins).
• Questions about mistakes made in the first round.
• DBMS and SQL queries: Difference between outer join and inner join, implementation, and date-related queries.
• Coding: Delete even nodes from a linked list and create a new linked list of only even nodes.
• DBMS: Normalization, scenario-based implementation, and join queries.
