After applying for an Aveva SWE internship, the candidate completed a behavioral assessment. The next step was a technical assessment, which was a ~1-hour long interview.

The interview was described as very laid-back. The interviewer asked some light CS trivia questions based on the resume. The main technical question involved calculating the total area covered by two rectangles, subtracting any overlap. The interviewee was allowed to write pseudocode and draw out their thought process. As there was more time, an additional question was given: explaining how to compute a factorial, including the recursive base case. The overall experience was "chill," and the candidate was allowed to use their own IDE.
