Experience:

Practo's on-campus recruitment process in November 2020 for a Software Developer role involved four rounds. The First Round was an online coding test on HackerRank, proctored via Google Meet. It consisted of four questions: three coding problems and one Database design + SQL query. Coding questions included rearranging an array to minimize a specific product, finding how many times a MaxVal variable updates based on signal levels in two arrays, and constructing arrays with given differences and bounds. The database question involved designing a movie booking schema and performing two SQL queries (movies with more than 5 bookings, second-highest daily transaction count). Second Round (Technical Interview 1) focused on discussing projects, technical stack choices, and methodological questions like authentication in full-stack projects. Coding questions asked were about finding unique, common, and uncommon elements between two arrays (hinting at using a set). Third Round (Technical Interview 2) started with self-introduction, followed by a coding question to find the longest palindromic substring, where pseudocode and a dry run were expected. This round also included SQL questions, such as writing a query to find employees with the highest salary per department and then extending it to find the top three. The Final Round was an HR interview, a basic discussion of the candidate's profile and background, including an overview of the company and salary structure. The interview experience was described as smooth with quality questions.
