Experience:

The process for the Associate Data Engineer role began with an online assessment. This round consisted of approximately fifty questions covering pseudocode, mathematics, and data/calculation-related problems. After a day, the list of selected students was released for the interview rounds.

First Technical Round: This 45-minute round started with a friendly interviewer. Questions began with "what happens when you type google.com," delving into networking concepts. Following this, the interviewer reviewed the candidate's resume, asking about the differences between MongoDB and SQL and a standard question about LRU cache. The candidate was then asked to write some SQL queries quickly. The candidate performed well and received positive feedback.

Second Technical Round: This was another 45-minute technical round with a senior person, who would potentially be the manager. Contrary to expectations of a system design round, it was fully technical. The interviewer asked two questions. The first was a metrics question, where the candidate had to write pseudocode while explaining their approach. After a brute-force solution, optimization was requested. An easy stack question was then posed, requiring pseudocode. Finally, some SQL queries, including ranking and top N questions, were given.

HR Round: After the technical rounds, there was a call with HR to discuss a few things, implying a positive outcome.
