Experience:

The interview process for a Lead Software Engineer (Frontend) at PepsiCo consisted of five rounds.

Online Assessment: This round involved a Mettle test focusing on Frontend skills and problem-solving.

Round 1 - Problem Solving Round (60 mins): Two questions were asked:

• Q1: A question related to tree BFS traversal. The interviewer asked the candidate to create the tree and test the code after completion.
• Q2: A substring problem involving Dynamic Programming (DP) and backtracking. Initially appearing basic, it was more complex upon further questioning. The candidate completed it using an iterative approach but needed hints for one edge case.

Round 2 - System Design (60 mins): The interviewer, who had strong backend system knowledge, asked to design a communication system similar to Whatsapp. Discussions covered APIs, interface, UI components, real-time communication, failure handling, and media.

Round 3 - HM Round (1 hour): This was a Hiring Manager round based on the candidate's resume and normal scenario-based questions. This round was completed in 40 minutes.

Final Interviews - HR Discussion: This round with HR covered salary expectations, PepsiCo's new plans, and general Q&A related to work. The candidate was asked to submit documents and received the offer the following week.
