Experience:

The selection process comprised three rounds, leading to full-time employment.

Round 1: Online Test

The online test was conducted on a platform (possibly Mettl, based on similar experiences) with webcam monitoring.

  • Aptitude: Consisted of very easy aptitude questions.
  • Technical MCQs: Covered C, C++, DBMS, OS, and Networks.
  • Coding Questions: Two coding questions were given.
    1. "Suppose there is a 2D matrix. Find the transpose of it and multiply the original and the transposed matrix and output the result."
    2. "Rotate a given 2D array by 90° clockwise or anticlockwise based on the flag (0 or 1) given - 0 for clockwise and 1 for anticlockwise."

    Shortlisting was possible even if only one test case of one coding question passed, provided aptitude score was good. 33 candidates were shortlisted.

Round 2: Technical Interview

The questions asked were:

  • OOPs Concepts: "What are the concepts of OOPs?" and "Write a code in any language you are comfortable in to describe the concept of OOPs."
  • Code Discussion: Questions related to the written code, specifically about inheritance: "If class demo1 extends from class demo, and if we write demo d=new demo(); demo1 d1=new demo1(); Then can we write d1=d and why? Can we write d=d1 and why?"
  • Computer Architecture: "Do you know anything about computer architecture?" (Candidate mentioned studying it in 3rd sem and not remembering well, then asked about registers).
  • Operating Systems & Data Structures: Since OS and DS were mentioned as subjects of interest, questions were asked about virtual memory, segmentation, paging, and page faults. Also, "How will you implement a stack? And then what changes will you make to implement a queue? And what's the difference between queue and stack?"

Round 3: HR Interview

This round included standard HR and behavioral questions:

  • Background: Year gap between 12th and engineering.
  • Personal Attributes: Strengths and weaknesses.
  • Technical Preferences: Which language are you most comfortable in? Have you done anything apart from your course in that language?
  • Motivation: Why choose this stream/branch? Do you plan to do higher studies? Why pursue a job directly after B.Tech?
  • Behavioral: What's the biggest risk you have taken till now? What are you passionate about? What are your hobbies?

5 candidates were selected for full-time employment after this round.
