Experience:

Nucleus Software visited the campus for recruitment in October 2022. The process began with a pre-placement talk, followed by an online technical assessment and a final interview.

Online Test:
This round consisted of three sections: a coding question (important to complete, languages available: C/C++, Java), technical MCQs, and aptitude MCQs. The difficulty level for questions in each section ranged from easy to medium. Selection criteria included passing all coding question test cases and a sectional cut-off in the technical and aptitude rounds. Out of approximately 600 students, 50 were selected for the interview round on the same day.

Final Interview:
The interviewer started by asking the candidate to introduce themselves. As the candidate briefed on their skills and projects, the interviewer picked one project and delved into its logic and related questions. Subsequently, the discussion moved to technical skills:

  • DBMS: Define ACID Properties, What is 3NF, How many tables will be required to represent two entities in a many-to-many relationship.
  • SQL: Asked to write a query based on a self-join.
  • HTML: What is DOM?
At the end, a puzzle was given to solve: the Camel and Banana puzzle.

Overall Experience: The interview process emphasized a strong understanding of core computer science subjects, database concepts, and problem-solving abilities.
