Nucleus Software visited the candidate's campus for the recruitment process.

Online Test: This round included a coding question (described as tricky, medium level) and technical and aptitude MCQ questions. The aptitude level was easy, and the technical round was above medium level. Selection required passing all coding test cases and meeting a sectional cut-off in the technical and aptitude rounds. 40 out of approximately 250+ students were selected for the interview round.

Interview (On-company office): The interview took place at the company's office, starting at 5:30 P.M. after a 9:30 A.M. reporting time.

  • Ques 1: "Okay, tell me something about yourself." (Candidate gave an introduction covering academic background, areas of interest, strengths, weaknesses, programming language, short and long-term goals, and family background).
  • Ques 2: "In what department your father works?" (Follow-up question, candidate answered).
  • Ques 3: "What is the Wrapper function in Java?" (Candidate was unfamiliar and apologized).
  • Ques 4: "What is the Final Keyword?" (Candidate explained it as a non-access modifier for classes, attributes, and methods making them non-changeable, useful for constant values).
  • Ques 5: "What is Finalize in Java?" (Candidate explained it as a method of the Object class for cleanup before object destruction, called by the Garbage collector).
  • Ques 6: "What are Deep copy and Shallow Copy?" (Candidate explained that shallow copy stores a copy of the original object and only the reference address, while deep copy stores both the original object and repetitive copies).
  • Ques 7: "Write a program for Deep copy and Shallow Copy." (Candidate wrote the program in C++).
  • Ques 8: A puzzle was given, which the candidate solved on the third attempt.
  • Ques 9: "Anything you want to ask?" (Candidate asked for feedback on the conversation and areas for improvement).
