Experience:

This interview experience for an SDE role at Optum took place on campus in August 2022. The selection process consisted of two rounds: a written test and a technical round.

Round 1: Written Test
This round was conducted on the HackerRank platform. It included:

• 2 coding questions related to data structures. The candidate solved one completely and the other with some test cases passed.
• Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) related to Operating Systems and DBMS.

Round 2: Technical Interview
The technical interview lasted for 45 minutes and was conducted by a software developer from Optum. Questions included:

• Self-introduction.
• Discussion about the candidate's projects.
• A live coding question: counting climbing steps, with the internal logic involving factorial calculations.
• Questions on cloud computing and AWS.
• Questions on Python programming, specifically the difference between mutable and immutable objects.

Suggestions given were to solve one coding question and MCQs correctly, be confident, and speak clearly in the interview.
