Topics Asked: Aptitude, Computer Fundamentals, Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate, MongoDB, Java Security, Java Transactions, HashSet, Resume Deep Drill, AI

Experience:

The candidate received an interview opportunity through Naukri.com for a Software Engineer 1 (SWE 1) role at Nucleus Software Exports.

Initial Screening (5 mins, Phone): This round focused on skill assessment and resume shortlisting. Questions were related to the candidate's resume and work experience.

Technical Round 1 (1.5 hr, Hire Pro Coding Test): This round included sections on Aptitude, Computer Fundamentals, Language Questions, I/O Questions, and two coding questions. Each section was timed. The coding questions were described as "easier part." The candidate successfully cleared this test.

Technical Round 2 (30-40 min, In Person): Held at the Noida office, this round primarily focused on Java language, Spring framework, and a deep dive into the candidate's resume. The candidate mentioned being able to answer most questions, but some required knowledge of Hibernate, which they hadn't worked on. The interviewer was friendly and gave a "go green for L2 role" after being impressed with the candidate's prior projects, including a research paper in AI.

Technical Round 3 (30-40 min, In Person): This round was also Java-focused, delving into the internal workings of Java security, MongoDB repository, in-depth questions regarding Java Mongo queries and optimizations, HashSet, and other Java internal workings. The interviewer also drilled down on Java transactions, which the candidate had not used. While good with basics, the candidate lacked in-depth knowledge on how to proceed and scale queries in the database, leading the interviewer to seem dissatisfied.
