The context was about NoBroker's platform where customers upload properties to sell, and buyers look for properties. The Data Science team ensures properties get visibility according to relevance for buyers, known as the "Discovery problem." The task was to build a system to overcome this, with a hint to think of it like building a recommender system and what features to include. The candidate then had to walk through their end-to-end solution.

Round 2 (Resume and Basic ML): The interviewer asked the candidate to explain projects from their resume, especially those where technical depth in Machine Learning/Data Science could be tested. A few basic questions on Machine Learning were also asked.
