Experience:

Atlassian visited the candidate's college for summer intern hiring, with eligibility for CSE, ECE & EE branches and a CGPA greater than 7. The process had three eliminatory rounds.

Round 1: Coding Round (HackerRank)

This was a proctored online round with 3 questions to be solved in 90 minutes.

• Question 1: Based on Binary Search, similar to "queries counts array elements values given range".
• Question 2: Described as "a bit complicated and tricky".
• Question 3: Not specified, also tricky.

Round 2: Data Structure and Algorithm Interview Round

After introductions, the interviewer asked a coding question: "Given an array of strings, where we have to return groups of all strings which consisted of the same alphabets." The candidate discussed the brute force and then an optimized approach using a Trie. The interviewer then asked about the time complexity and further optimization. Another question was: "Given an array of passwords, and we have to create a new password such that the no. of occurrences of any alphabet in all the passwords doesn't match with our new password." The candidate solved both, and the interviewer seemed satisfied. No core CS questions were asked.

Round 3: HR Round

This round focused on behavioral aspects. Tips for this round included being honest and going through Atlassian's values.

The results were declared the same day, and the candidate was one of nine selected.
