Experience:

This interview experience for an SDE-1 role at Meesho was part of an on-campus virtual recruitment drive, designed to assess technical proficiency, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Round 1: Coding and MCQs

This round consisted of 3 coding questions and 20 MCQs. The MCQs were based on Operating Systems, Computer Networks, C/C++ output questions, and Java, with 5 questions from each part, ranging from easy to medium difficulty.

The coding questions were:

  1. Given 2 arrays, find a list of values which are available in both arrays in ascending order (solvable using hashing technique).
  2. Given 2 strings, determine the minimum number of characters in either string that must be modified to make the two strings anagram. If it is not possible, return -1.
  3. Weighted Job Scheduling (solvable using Dynamic Programming; binary search needed for optimization to avoid TLE).

Candidates who solved all 3 coding questions and had good MCQ marks were shortlisted.

Round 2: Technical Interview 1 (1.5 hours)

This was a technical coding interview conducted on HackerRank CodePair. The interviewer discussed the candidate's projects in brief and then asked two coding questions. The code was expected to pass all given test cases. One of the questions was "Water the Plants" from GeeksforGeeks, which was considered pretty tough. The interviewer was helpful and provided ample time. After the coding questions, some general questions on Operating Systems and Databases were asked.

Round 3: Technical Interview 2 (1 hour)

This technical round started with self-introduction and a detailed discussion on projects, including the candidate's role in team projects. The interviewer asked to write all database tables used in the project and related SQL queries. Following this, one coding question, easily solvable using DFS, was posed. The round also covered networking concepts such as ARP, DNS, and the OSI model.

Round 4: HR Interview

Details for this round were not extensively provided in the source.
