Experience:

The candidate, with over two years of experience, applied for the Technology Analyst role through MSCI's career portal. After resume shortlisting, a HackerRank test link was received.

HackerRank Test: Consisted of two coding questions: one easy and one medium level. The exact questions were not recalled but tested basic problem-solving skills.

Technical Round 1 (with a Senior Member – 60 minutes): The first 30 minutes involved a coding challenge: "Group Anagrams" (LeetCode problem). Post-coding, technical questions were asked on: Core Java (Collections, Java 8 features, Streams, Functional interfaces, etc.), Spring Boot (Annotations, Beans, Scopes, Dependency injection, interceptors, filters, etc.), and SQL (a query related to joins).

Technical Round 2 (with the VP of the Company – 60 minutes): Similar to the first round, it started with a 30-minute coding challenge: "Valid Sudoku" (LeetCode problem). Afterward, questions revolved around project experience and resume. If the candidate had cloud experience, more questions would revolve around it.

Technical Round 3 (with the Director – 45 minutes): This was primarily a discussion round about projects worked on, diving deep into experience and technical contributions. Additionally, a few behavioral questions were asked to assess soft skills and alignment with company culture.

Outcome: Despite all interview rounds going well, the candidate unfortunately did not receive an offer, which was described as a painful rejection after reaching the final round.
