Application: Applied on the careers page without a referral in October 2023. Resume was shortlisted, and an email for the Online Assessment was received on February 12, 2024.

Round 1 (Online Assessment - February 15, 2024): Comprised of three sections:

• Debugging Section: 20 minutes, easy questions. Any programming language could be chosen.
• Aptitude Section: 10 questions to be solved in 20 minutes, difficulty level easy to moderate.
• Coding Section: 3 programming questions, difficulty level LeetCode Easy-Medium.
  • Question 1: Similar to Merging Intervals on GeeksforGeeks.
  • Question 2: Similar to Level Order Tree Traversal on GeeksforGeeks.
  • Question 3: Not explicitly linked, but solved.

The candidate solved all 3 coding questions, and the debugging and aptitude sections also went well.

Round 2 (Technical Interview - February 20, 2024): The next day (February 16), HR called to confirm clearance of the Online Assessment and scheduled the interview. It was a Zoom call lasting over 60 minutes with two friendly interviewers. It started with an introduction, then moved to 9-10 SQL queries, for which the candidate was prepared and answered correctly. A question on C programming was asked, involving a recursively called function with infinite recursion and a 2MB memory limit.

Round 3 (HR Round - February 21, 2024): HR called the very next day for a positive response from the panel and scheduled the HR round. The interviewer joined late and directly asked for an introduction. Questions were asked about the project mentioned in the resume, specifically why MongoDB was used over a SQL database. Behavioral questions included: "What are your aspirations and career plans?", "Why do you want to join Morgan Stanley?", "What do you know about the business side of Morgan Stanley?", "Core values of Morgan Stanley?", "Given two teams, one Python and one C++, which would you prefer and why?", "Give a scenario where you had to sacrifice your ethics.", and "Tell an interesting incident related to your project."

The interview lasted about 30 minutes. After exactly 3 weeks, the candidate received an email confirming shortlisting for the Summer Analyst role.
