Experience:

The interview process for an SDE(UI) Internship + FTE role was conducted on-campus and consisted of four rounds.

Round 1: Psychometric Test

This round had 50 questions to be completed in 12 minutes.

Round 2: Online Assessment

It included 10 Technical MCQs (OS, DBMS, CN), 10 Quantitative Aptitude MCQs, and 2 coding questions.

  • Coding Question 1: Minimum number of 1s that are needed to express a positive number in terms of special number (a number consisting only of 1s, e.g., 1, -11, 111). This resembled a Coin Change problem with negative coins.
  • Coding Question 2: A simple hashmap question.

The candidate cleared this round along with 46 others.

Technical Interview - I

This round lasted about 30 minutes.

  • "Tell me about yourself."
  • Summary of the most recent project.
  • Puzzle Question: Print a sequence without using a loop (Input: 16, Output: 16 11 6 1 -4 1 6 11 16). Hint: Use recursion.
  • Pairing Problem: Similar to "Friends Pairing Problem". The candidate struggled with this.
  • Find Peak Element: The candidate was asked to solve this problem.

The candidate was rejected despite good DSA skills, possibly due to not solving one question completely.

Technical Interview - II (Design Round)

This round, as described by a friend who cleared the previous round, involved a design question to design an E-Commerce website.

Questions included: "If a user hasn't logged in and wants to buy a product, how would you redirect him?"

The overall experience was challenging, leading to rejection.
