Experience:

The candidate applied on LinkedIn and received an online test link with three questions, all of which were solved. After a few days, virtual interviews were scheduled. The recruiter informed that each round was an elimination round.

Round 1 (Technical Interview): Conducted by an SDE-2. The interviewer introduced himself and then asked the candidate to introduce themselves.

• Questions included: "Create a singleton class." "What exactly is normalization? Why do we practice normalization? What are normal forms? Give examples." "Explain in detail any aspect of your project." "Why is Kafka used in your project?" "What is the difference between synchronous and asynchronous communication, and why do you use it?" "The distinction between Process and Thread." "Decode an encoded string with square brackets and a number outside the square bracket. For Example: 3[a2[b]] is the given string. and output: abbabbabb."

The candidate took about 20 minutes to solve and 20 minutes to code the string decoding problem, initially using DFS but later discussing BFS as a better approach. The result for this round was positive.

Round 2 (Technical Interview): Conducted by a Senior Engineer and Team Lead. The interviewer introduced himself, followed by the candidate's introduction.

• Questions included: Discussion about the candidate's project. "What exactly is REST? Is HTTP a required protocol for REST? What is the point of REST? Why not use SOAP?" "What are the principles of OOPs? Give an example of polymorphism in action." "What exactly are SOLID principles?"

The interview went extremely well, and the recruiter responded quickly with a positive result within 2-3 hours.

Round 3 (Technical + Managerial Interview): Conducted by an engineering manager. The interviewer inquired about the candidate's current project, including the "what and why" of the technologies employed.

The interviewer was "very sweet and attentive" to the candidate's approach.
