Arcesium conducted an FTE pool drive for selected IITs and NITs in June 2021. The selection process was rated as difficult and consisted of 5 rounds.

Round 1 (Online Aptitude and Coding Round): This round had 32 questions and lasted 80 minutes, divided into three sections.

  • Aptitude section: 15 questions, 20 minutes. Described as tough due to time constraints, requiring a good grasp of Mathematics and Puzzles.
  • CS fundamental section: 15 questions, 15 minutes. Moderate level questions from OOPS, Java, DBMS, OS, DSA, and Computer Networks. There was a 25% negative marking for wrong answers.
  • Coding section: 2 coding questions, 45 minutes. The questions were: "Allocate Minimum Number of Pages" and "Maximum Array Elements that can be removed along with its adjacent values to empty given array".

36 candidates from the college made it to the next round.

Round 2 (Technical Interview): Conducted virtually on Bluejeans. The interviewer was a Senior Software Engineer. The round started with an introduction, followed by two coding questions.

  • The first question required a constant space solution. The candidate initially solved it with O(N) extra space but was guided to an iterative solution, which was thoroughly checked for custom inputs and corner cases.
  • The second question was easy, and the candidate was asked to code it within five minutes.

The interviewer seemed satisfied with the solutions.

Round 3 (Technical Interview - Panel Round): This round involved two Senior Software Engineers. They asked for an introduction, discussed the candidate's internship, and then delved into a detailed discussion of the candidate's projects.

  • Questions included: "What is LRU and how can you implement it?" and "What is MRU and ask for real-time examples of MRU in practical life."

The candidate also asked about the work culture and tech stack at Arcesium. 22 candidates were promoted to the next round.

Round 4 (Technical Interview): Not explicitly detailed in the provided snippet, but implied to be another technical round.

Round 5 (HR Round): Standard HR questions were asked, including educational and family background, current location and relocation preference, "Why Arcesium?", knowledge about Arcesium, existing offers and differences, "Dream Company", and inspiration.

The candidate asked about the team environment, work culture, and expectations from freshers. Two days later, the candidate received an offer. 5 candidates from the college were selected.
