Experience:

The candidate applied for the Technical Analyst role off-campus via a referral in August 2021, and the entire process spanned approximately two weeks.

1. Online Test (AMCAT): This test was conducted on the AMCAT platform and comprised sections on English, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Analysis, Technical Aptitude (CS/IT Basics), Business Analytics (Data Interpretation), and Database and SQL-based questions. Sections appeared in a fixed order, and questions could not be skipped, with specific time limits for each.

2. Interview Round 1: Conducted on MS Teams for 1.5 hours. The interview began with a casual conversation to ease the candidate, followed by introductions and a discussion of the candidate's current role, tech-stack, work culture, learnings, and takeaways. Questions included: "How will you explain the concept of the Internet to a 6-year-old kid?", Puzzles like "Find ages of daughters" and "Mislabeled Jars", "What is Virtual Memory?", "What's the difference between JRE and JVM?", Basic LINUX commands, a case study (e.g., whether a company should merge with another), "Why do you want to switch from a Technical to more of a non-technical role?", "What do you know about ION, and what makes you the right fit for the job?".

3. Interview Round 2: This 0.5-hour interview on MS Teams started with the standard "Tell me something about yourself" and a discussion of the current role. A scenario-based question was given, such as acting as an admission counselor to counsel a high school student. This round focused on assessing if the candidate was a good fit for the company.

4. Final Interview with the Country Head: This was a 45-minute group interview on MS Teams, primarily focused on analyzing the candidate's fit for the company. Questions included a brief introduction, "Why do you want to switch to a non-technical role?", and "Why ION Trading?".
