Experience:

Arcesium visited an NIT campus in July 2022, offering a 2-month Summer Internship for the 2023 batch. Around 150-200 candidates were shortlisted for the online round.

Round 1 (Online Round): Not explicitly detailed in the snippet but was an initial screening.

Round 2 (Technical Interview): The interviewer was a Tech Lead with 5 years at the company. The round started with introductions, followed by questions about the candidate's projects, tech stacks used, and how they work. The interviewer also asked about previous internship experience (the candidate mentioned being a Teaching Assistant) and subjects taught.

  • The main coding question was: "Given a sorted Infinite array, find a given element M in it." The interviewer asked for multiple approaches, discussing time complexity and failure cases for each (e.g., difference method, binary search with large endpoint).

The interviewer seemed satisfied, and the candidate immediately received an email for Round 2.

Round 3 (Technical Interview): Not explicitly detailed, but was another technical round focusing on core CS concepts.

  • Questions included: "What is OS? Why OS? How does OS provide an interface to the user (Follow Up)?" "System calls? Explain the procedure." "Process Synchronization? How it's achieved (Locks etc..)?" "Few more basics questions on OS and DBMS."

The interviewer asked about the candidate's questions and shared insights into their experience with Arcesium and expectations from an intern.

Round 4 (Technical Interview): Not explicitly detailed in the snippet, but was another technical round.

Round 5 (Managerial/HR Round): The interviewer started by taking feedback about the complete process. They also asked about stipends offered by other companies for statistical purposes.

The candidate asked about the interviewer's experience with Arcesium, and the interviewer enthusiastically described various aspects of the company, including office amenities and work life.

The interview process concluded, and results came out at 8:30 pm the same day. 2 interns were selected, and the candidate was one of them.
