One day, the head monk of the Zen monastery called Koji and Haruki and entrusted them with a task: to look after the beautiful gardens of the monastery. They were also given the individual responsibilities of nurturing a specific type of tree. Koji was given a sturdy oak tree and Haruki was given a delicate bamboo plant.
